This is the latest in a very sporadic set of posts I’ve done comparing the world of today to that of the role-playing book Cyberpunk 2020.


This time around good news comes from a new exoskeleton that allows paraplegics to walk again, while in the other direction lies the continued increase in the number of tent cities of homeless citizens in the USA.

However, while AI continues to improve and its frequency in the media continues to grow, the overall level of American gun crime further decreases even while the levels of financial inequality continue to skyrocket.

So, not quite there yet – but there’s an awful lot of people out there with guns and given the stark division in American politics who knows what can be achieved in the next four years…
