Boom Town : Ah yes, back to men in rubber suits… Comedy falling down (it’s hard to believe this is the same show as The Empty Child)… The switch to practical ethics…  Aaaand a mcguffin ending…

Bad Wolf : Oh yes, let’s do a riff on reality and other forms of really bad TV (*barf*)… "On what is the Great Cobalt Pyramid built on the ruins of? Torchwood…"… The Dr thinks Rose is dead again, must be Tuesday…

Parting of the Ways : The Dr has the chance to destroy the Daleks and says he’d rather "be a coward" (not be a killer) every time – well, apart from at the end of War… Then, of course, the ultimate mcguffin (the first, but not last, time we’ll build a whole Dalek empire and then just literally wish them away)…

First Xmas Special : David Tennant finding his feet but actually not in it for a big portion… Actually just means you’re reminded how annoying Jackie and Micky are… RTD just being silly again… Great way to introduce a new Dr – have him in a fight and then kill someone…

On to the new season…

New Earth : For an RTD written episode surprisingly good (not the last time I’ll be saying that I think)… Tennant immediately owns the role in the same way Matt Smith will do in his first episode but I never really felt CE did… Nice effects… Amusing ol’ fallback on the "zombie invasion"… Fun body-swap stuff gives lead two an opportunity to comedically overact… New Dr shows significantly more empathy than the previous one (but is still majorly righteous – nice!)… Already feels like a step-up – let’s see if it continues…
