I used to read a lot of “hard” SF. I also used to read a lot of short stories. Recently I’ve been reading mostly non-fiction intersperced with some light fantasy and spce opera. At the moment I’m reading “Stories of Your Life and Others” by Ted Chiang. This has reminded me why I used to read the kind of books I did – I shall have to see if I can find some more. The stories I have read today so far (one on the way to work, the other at lunch) have been about human intellect improvement (with shades of Flowers for Algenon) and about a woman who proves the inconsistancy of mathematics (ie 1=2). Both were excellent.
