I’ve been watching the CNN / YouTube Democratic Party Preidential Nominee debate. This is surely to be one of the first real strike for “new media” as potentially anyone with a webcam could send in questions which were then selected to be asked to the candidates. Expect a lot of more this direct connecting via things like social networking sites coming up around election time.

Anyway, I did find it interesting that of the 38 questions asked question 36 was “Would you treat non-religious Americans equally?”. It seems that these sort of issues really are in the popular mindset (assuming the chose of questions reflected those sent in). It does look like the time is right for more people to publicly assert their lack of faith.
