This one was so interesting I thought it deserved its own post.

Britain’s new cultural divide: religion and secularism

It seems that there is a rising tide of the end of “don’t ask don’t tell” about a person’s faith (or lack of) that is causing the buried inconsistencies and contradictions to come forcefully to the surface (on all sides).
One of my favorite bloggers, Ed Brayton, says that 30 years from now people will look at the attitude some current people have of gay folks with the same incredulity we do now of the American racists of the 1950s. I can’t help wondering if what we’re seeing now will lead to the same situation regarding religion and other supernatural phenomena in the medium term (100 years or so) future.
