Interesting twist on capitalism I recently read about. As I have known for a long time (on minimal evidence) it is possible for company shareholders to sue the company management if they (the management) act in such a way as to decrease the stock price. Sometimes this means that the company ends up acting in unethical, but not illegal, ways for fear of being sued if they don’t.

Now, by an interesting twist of fate it seems that Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are now campaigning for the American government to change the law so that the some of the unethical things they’ve been doing recently in China would actually become illegal so they could justify not doing them.

Something’s wrong with this system somewhere…
