Well, they’re at it again. This time appearently they (the so-called defendants of the Moral Majority, etc, etc) are trying to pass a law mandating the reporing of all know teenage sexual behaviour to parents. So if a doctor or social worker is told by a teenager that they are having sex they will, by law, have to inform that teenagers parents. Result? Same old thing – massive increase in STDs and teenage pregnancies as teenagers just stop trusting the very people who are supposed to be helping them.

Meanwhile in the US a group of ‘converned parents’ have just failed to make it de-facto law that only they are allowed to talk to their children about sex.

Never ceases to amaze me that the people who put forward these kinds of laws have very well established ways to achieve their stated goals but always choose not to use them. Condoms in schools, earlier sex education, confidential advice, etc has always been shown to reduce the things I mentioned above. Only I’m guessing that they just say they want to reduce those things as an acceptable front when what they really want to do is to stop age old natural process of, you know, teenagers having that evil sex thing…
